The Rev. Dr. Jane P. Mitcham.....Senior Pastor
Pastor Jane was installed as Beth Eden's Senior Pastor on Sunday, August 28, 2005. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and was a public school teacher and administrator from 1961 through 1981. After graduating from Lenoir-Rhyne College, Pastor Jane earned her Doctor of Education degree from the University of South Carolina. She attended Pacific Lutheran Seminary and was ordained in 1998. She served as agency co-director of Lutheran Family Services of the Carolinas from 1984 to 1992 with husband Mitch and as assistant to the Bishop of the N.C. Synod from 1992 through 2000, working part-time from 2000 until 2005. Pastor Jane accepted a call to serve St. Paul Lutheran Church in Statesville from 1999 to 2004.
Pastor Chad R. Walker...Associate Pastor
Pastor Chad began his work with us as Associate Pastor on November 18, 2007. He has a passion for helping God's people of all ages to pass on the faith in Jesus Christ. He grew up in Orlando, FL. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Newberry College in Newberry, SC in 1996 and attended Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC where he earned his Master of Divinity degree in 2000. Pastor Chad has previously served at Holy Cross Lutheran church in Spring Hill, FL from 2000 to 2002 and St. Mark Lutheran Church in Salisbury, NC from 2002 to 2007.
Cody R. Jones...Director of Music Ministries
Beth Eden is excited to welcome Cody as our Director of Music Ministries. He is currently a Senior at Lenoir-Rhyne University working towards a degree in church music. Cody has conducted the Lenoir-Rhyne Youth Chorus and has been interim Director of Music at several local churches while pursuing his degree. He lives in Taylorsville and says, "When I have a little free time, I like to read, but that's not often!" Cody began his work at Beth Eden on September 3, 2008 on B.E.S.T. Night.
Annette DeJong...Organist
Annette began her music ministry here at Beth Eden
on Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Originally from Hawthorne, NJ, she and her husband moved to Newton
to be closer to youngest son, Doug and his wife Terry.
Annette says, "I feel a warmth here at Beth Eden...I'm hoping to be a blessing here as I serve you with my music!"
Jane Cadwallader...Pianist for Early Service
Jane is a native of Florence, KY and a graduate of
Lenoir-Rhyne College. She is a retired elementary
school teacher and works with our little kids on
B.E.S.T. Nights and with Relay For Life. Jane also
fills in for local churches who are in need of an organist.
Darlene Saunders...Office Manager
Darlene began her work at Beth Eden in March of
2009. Born in Richmond, VA, she has called the
mountains of North Carolina home since 1968.
Darlene has a degree from NCSU in Business
Administration. She is a member of Conover
Presbyterian NCD and serves as their treasurer.
She lives in Hickory and has a grown daughter in
Texas. Darlene spends her free time volunteering
in nursery home ministry and "Pack A Bag" program
to feed hungry children. Her hobbies include
gardening and reading.
